Hot Air Ballooning Holiday – Todi, Umbria, Italy – Sneak peek

Well, we’re nearly home! Funny to think that since leaving our villa this morning, we’re only 150 odd km away and still in Italy after 10 hours. But we hope to be home soon, and that all depends on how much delay we’re going to get on top.

Anyway, enough moaning, as it would be just such an unfair view of our holidays, which were, in a word, “awesome”. It’s the third time Béa and I have teamed up with LSUHABC (Loughborough University’s Students Union Hot Air Balloon Club) and we had such a great time, the week flew by (no pun intended, honest! :D).

In the end, I took around 900 photos, and will endevour to do a full write up some time soon as so much happened – not just from a ballooning perspective. There were days out, antics by the pool and of course lots of great Italian food as well as the flying… A big thanks to the entire team for the fun and flying.

In the meantime, here’s a glimpse of Todi at dawn, from the air. Ballooning’s pretty photogenic, but at around 6:30 in the morning, we have that magic morning light on top. The soft pastel colours, the morning mist from the brick factory down the road, the dogs barking, the espresso machines warming up those lattes. Ahhh I wish I was still there!
